Boxing clever during rain break
Players did not have to sit around just twiddling their thumbs during the rain delay at the Barclays Singapore Open on Sunday – they crowded around the television in the clubhouse to watch superstar boxer Manny Pacquiao win his latest fight.
A lot of the players are sports mad and they found a television that was showing the fight between Filipino star Pacquiao and Antonio Margarito for the vacant WBC super welterweight title.
"Not the worst storm delay of all time as we all got to watch the Pacquiao fight but it means we are struggling to get finished today," US Open champion Graeme McDowell told his fans on Twitter.
Defending champion Ian Poulter, who was joint leader with Adam Scott of Australia and Korea’s Kang Kyung-nam when play was stopped at 11.48am with the trio on the fourth hole, also watched the fight.
"70 players are watching this awesome Pac Man fight – wow it is a belter," he wrote.
Pacquiao won what could be his last fight by a unanimous points decision.
