Twitter is abuzz with chat about the Barclays Singapore Open, the richest national Open in Asia and a favourite with players.
Many of the competitors keep their fans up to date about happenings at Sentosa Golf Club on the popular social networking site.
Several of the top performers on day one summed up their rounds and gave their thoughts on the steamy conditions.
Co-leader James Morrison of England, whose Twitter handle is @jimbogolf1, said both the weather and his putter had been hot.
“Good day out there today, putter is getting to where it should be! Seriously warm out there today! @richlogue81 (his caddy) was hot and bothered!,” he tweeted.
Arguably the round of the day on Thursday came from Singapore amateur champion Lam Zhiqun, who shot a blemish free 66 on the tough Serapong layout.
The 22-year-old Singaporean tweets as @lamzhiqun.
“Solid day at e office. Hope 2 keep it goin 4 e rest of the week! Hope e updates were gd! Now its time 2 c'brate my younger bro @xiuu_ bday!,” he wrote on Thursday.
He was up and about early on Friday morning and tweeting to his followers.

2010 US Open champion Graeme McDowell (@graeme_mcdowell) an inveterate tweeter who regularly conducts short Q and A sessions with his 260,000 followers.
He was happy with his opening 68 over the Serapong course.
“Solid day at the office. The a/c wasn't working very well though. Hottt out there. 3 under on the tougher track is a nice start,” he tweeted.
